Portsmouth Illustration Exhibition

Ok, so this did actually happen two weeks ago, but never mind that. I'm not good at the whole "updating" malarkey.

On the 31st May, the Illustration studios opened up for private viewings, and it was a big success. I hadn't really had the chance to see much of other students work as I was busy being a hermit and working at home, so for that reason I rather enjoyed it. Lots of good stuff out there, and funny seeing everyone's MOO business cards. I imagine that company got a fair chunk of business over this period from students. Mostly from me I imagine...

Lots of good feedback all around and great seeing people checking out my work, seemingly enjoying what they saw. Sadly some enjoyed it so much they stole parts of my actual coursework...

Some snaps of the event.

Me being forced to pose. Admire the awkwardness.

So yes, all in all it was a very fun evening full of colours and beer.

Behance gallery is now up and running

You can now see my work and projects on Behance.net. Go take a peak. Most likely better than facebook for this kind of thing.

My page can be found here!

Society6 shop

I've recently uploaded a few bits and bobs onto the Society6 site. Here you can buy my designs on a variety of different products, such as T shirts, pillows and iphone cases.

I mean business...cards. I have made business cards...

Little Moo, as the site  likes to call it, emailed me the other day and told me that my business cards are ready to collect. So Friday I popped to London and went to Shoreditch to find the MOO shop was located in the hipster, container made 'Boxpark' shopping complex. It was actually a perfect little shop for it. Nice size and had everything on display.

The super friendly woman or "elf" as she referred to herself, handed over my business cards in a nice little box saving me £1! I had been nervous about the fonts, but I think they came out great. Perhaps the full stop in my email address could have been a slightly bigger size, but on the whole I love them. The printing is great and the card quality is excellent. I shall no doubt be getting stuff from http://uk.moo.com/ again in the future.

Gallery added!

Just a quick little update here. I've just added a link at the top of this page next to HOME which will take you to my illustration galleries at my Facebook illustration page.

My book has arrived!

My Digestive System book has now arrived! I got it printed from www.Blurb.co.uk and am delighted with the finished article. I felt that softcover was probably best for the book as it's only about 40 pages, and a fair bit cheaper too! It's great seeing all the work that I have been stressing over finally printed out in such good quality.

Here are a few snaps of me holding my lovely baby...

For those interested in ordering it or seeing more, go to my book store and have a look at the preview.

Digestive System Illustrations

Two posts in two days, what madness is this?

So as some people are aware, I have been working on a children's book based on the Digestive System for my uni project. It has taken way longer than I originally anticipated, but have got it all done now and off to print. So here I will share a few select pages for your viewing pleasure (whoever it is I'm actually talking to...). All done in Adobe Illustrator, then slightly tinkered with in Adobe Photoshop as I'm still getting used to Illustrator. Very pleased with the final designs, so hopefully y'all like them too.

Now I just have to wait for my book to get here and see what it came out like!

I'm a professional, so make me some business cards!

Wow, it's been a long time since I last updated here! I guess I've been a bit busy, but I shall rectify that with a surge of new images and ramblings.

Seeing as I think I'm an illustrator, I felt I should get myself some cute little business cards made up. After searching for what felt like an age, I found a site that I was happy with, which was MOO ( http://uk.moo.com/ ). Nice and easy to figure out and put my designs on, plus it had 20% discount for students. I haven't taken enough advantage of student discounts since returning to uni so it made sense using it this time.

Anyway, here is the finished design...

I've ordered myself 50, and because I'm a cheap skate I will be picking them up from MOO Headquarters in Shoreditch instead of paying for shipping. Plus that means I don't have to rely on a postman!

Rather pleased with the overall design, but part of me is worried how well the text will come out. Only time will tell I suppose! I kind of want an ice cream now though...
